Everlast Boxing Timer Review

I purchased the interval timer at a local sporting goods store for $19.99. The timing unit includes batteries, unfortunately the first unit I purchased had a bad batch of no-name batteries, and I had to return the unit. The second unit worked flawlessly.

The unit itself is bit larger than it appears to be on the website, reminiscent of the old school hunky personal pager units of the 1990's. The unit is lightweight and comes with a velcro arm band, which I'm not sure would hold that well if you were really hitting a bag hard, but I have yet to try that. I've simply set the unit on the ground near where I'm training and listen for the audible alert. There is a audible boxing ring tone, as well as a vibrate mode function. You can set the unit for 2 or 3 min rounds with 30 sec or 60 sec rest. There are no other timing functions. I would have much preferred to set the rounds to whatever time I wanted. That way I can use the until for any interval training exercises, I like to do high intensity 1min intervals of free weights with 30 sec rests. But this unit would be simply limited to boxing rounds.

I think all it in its a good unit. It's perfect for timing shadow boxing, sparring, and bag work rounds but not good for much else. But what do you expect for $20 bucks.

I give this unit a 6 out of 10
